Horses and Human Societies in the North American West seeks to bring together interdisciplinary techniques from across the natural and social sciences to help understand the ways that horses and their relationships with people shaped the past and present in western North America.

Our team includes scholars from across the Great Plains and Southwest and national and international partners and collaborators. In our work, we hope to achieve a synthesis of archaeological, historical, and traditional knowledge to tell the story of humans and horses in a new way.
